FAQs

How do I make a booking?

Contact us if you wish to make a booking and I will confirm whether the property is available for the dates you require and will email you the relevant booking forms and payment details. We shall hold your provisional reservation for 7 days. If we have not received your completed and signed booking form with the deposit within 7 days, we regret the reservation will be cancelled.

What deposit is required?

A deposit of 25% is needed to secure your booking. This can be by cheque payable to “East Pilton Farms” or by electronic bank transfer. The balance payment will be due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If your holiday begins less than six weeks from the time of booking, the full tariff is payable on booking. We do not require a security bond as we would much rather trust our guests to take good care of the property.

What is your cancellation policy?

In the event of cancellation less than six weeks before a holiday begins, the whole tariff is payable unless the property is successfully re-let. With more than six weeks notice the deposit will be forfeit unless we can re-let the property.

What are the arrival and departure times at the cottage?

All weekly rentals usually start and finish on a Saturday. Tenancies commence at 4.00pm on the day of arrival and terminate at 10.00am on the day of departure (unless otherwise agreed with the owner.)

Do you allow pets?

Dogs are allowed by prior arrangement only. All pets are to be kept under strict and proper control at all times and dogs are not to be left alone at any time in the accommodation or on the premises. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms and we provide stair gates for this reason. Dog owners must provide their own dog beds and feeding/drinking bowls. We do not charge for dogs but we do expect owners to throughly clean up after their pet and to leave the cottage in a clean and tidy condition. We regret that a £50 cleaning charge will be payable if we find that the cottage has been left in an unacceptable condition.

What linen do you provide?

Duvets, pillows, bed linen & towels are all provided (excluding cot linen and beach towels), and will be changed between tenancies and weekly during tenancies. Kitchen towels and tea towels are also provided.

Do you provide baby equipment?

Yes. Cots, highchairs and stair gates are all available free of charge but must be requested prior to arrival. Cot linen is not provided.

Is there parking?

Yes. There is off road parking for 4 cars.

What happens if I damage or break something at the cottage?

We do not ask for a security bond upfront but should any damage or breakages occur during your tenancy you will be liable for the costs for replacements/repairs. Please notify us immediately if a breakage or damage does occur during your stay so that we can rectify the situation as soon as possible.
